Thrive Basic Setup

Ready to get started setting up your Thrive Point-of-Sale System?

We've got videos and articles to help you through the process. Follow these basic processes and you will be ready to use Thrive!

Although we suggest that for a well rounded and perfectly configured system you go through every article when you get a chance, we've put together this roadmap of articles and videos that are most critical for a basic setup.

The basic set up workflow covers everything BUT your menu items & prices -- see the "Managing Your Menu" section for that important piece!

1. Basic Store Setup:

This is where you will set up your store information including store hours, daypart hours, and valid order types.

2. Configure Station Devices:

It's important that you configure all of your stations and cash drawers. This will ensure that they're properly named and configured.

3. Assign Printers To Your Stations:

This is where you will set up which printer is attached to which station as well as configurations that give you control over how and when items are printed. These settings, in conjunction with the item-based printer assignments, enable you to configure settings for various days, times, station, and printer.

4. Configure Your Receipts:

This is where you will set up how your customer, production, and merchant receipts looks when they're printed

5.  Configure Order Types:

We're going to start by making sure your order types are configured properly. This will ensure your delivery expectations are configured and your order workflows are ideal.

6. Configure Street Database Or Google Maps:  (Delivery only!)

If you are using the Street Database method to manage your delivery areas make sure you have worked with your account manager to have your databases imported.
If you are using Google Maps to manage your delivery areas, you will need to configure your Google Maps.

7. Configure Your Tax/Tender/Cash:

Next you will need to configure how your cash flows through the system.

8. Configure Your Credit Card Processor:

This step is very critical if you are using integrated credit card processing. Please make sure you double-check your Merchant ID for accuracy.

You can find many articles in the Tax/Tender/Cash area on credit card processing.
Once you have this set up - and your menu ready, be sure to test credit transactions.  Settle your credit batch and confirm that deposits are going to your bank account.

9. Configure Employee Workflow:

This section allows you to configure employee information, such as how breaks and overtime are tracked, job types, and driver fees (if you do delivery)

10. Security:

We've set the security settings using a common scheme, but you may wish to review them to make sure they work for you.

11. Employees:

It is now time to enter your employees into the system.
